MIC Re-Branding

When a party performs badly in a election, the logical thing to do is apost-mortem. THis is done to look at what went wrong, if its still relevant to changing times? And what has to be done. Mic was the first to come out of the blocks after the poor performance in the election with its re-branding excersice. Its president felt that re-branding the logo, colours, song and website will effectively sway the votes back to their favour and the people are(who lost) are still the right people to take the party foward.

Good Luck MIC!

DAP office attacked!

The Perak DAP headquarters in Bandar Ipoh Raya was damaged when two unidentified men hurled a petrol bomb at it early this morning.

The incident, which happened at 2.20am, was witnessed by security guard Ammeri Ahmad, 45, who was on duty at a nearby school, and who then called the police.

There were no injuries reported as the building was empty and only two windows were damaged, said Ammeri.

The DAP office is located on the top floor of a two-storey shophouse. On the ground floor is an Indian-Muslim restaurant.

Ammeri said he saw two men throwing something at the windows of the DAP office that caused two loud explosions.

He said when he approached the shophouse the two men took off on a motorcycle.

Perak DAP chairman Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham said the incident appeared to be politically motivated and called on the police to conduct an immediate investigation into the incident.

“It is an attempt to burn the DAP office and is believed to be done by those who have elements of mischief towards the party,” he said after visiting the office.

Ngeh, who is also a senior state executive councillor, said this was the first incident of its type since the formation of the state coalition government after the March general election.

He urged the people to respect the coalition government as it was the people’s choice.

Ipoh deputy police chief Supt Idris Abdullah said police were looking into elements of mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage.

He said no suspect had been picked up.

Ipoh Fire and Rescue personnel were at the scene after receiving a call at 3am and carried out an inspection.

May 13th 1969

May 13th 1969 is a day that most Malaysians don’t want to remember. A day of racial tension and blood bath. 19years later we stand as a united society who don’t want anything remotely as close as that day happening again. The older folks may have stories to tell us of this ordeal, lets keep it as a bad memory that we don’t want to ever see again.

KLCC Hindraf Rally

30 Hindraf supporters held a peaceful protest in front of the KLCC shopping centre today demanding the release of detainees held under the ISA.

The protestors also demanded that the government look into the medical needs of P. Uthayakumar who is suffering from diabetes and a heart condition. Uthayakumar is one of five Hindraf leaders held under the ISA on December 13 last year.

His family said that as a result of his detention, his blood sugar level is at 13.5 and he is suffering from disrupted eyesight, chest pains, and possibly damaged heart muscles. His supporters want the government to refer him to the National Heart Institute (IJN) for further treatment.

Watch the video below and the confrontation between a police personal and PKR vice-president and Subang MP R Sivarasa. Superb how he defends the people there and leaves the helpless police officer keeping quiet.

The police are definately acting on protecting from any bad things happening but since they are not used too the kind of freedom the people deserve it may take some adjusting :)

What would you like to be called?

When someone ask you what are you, what do you say?

Malay?

Chinese?

Indian?

or

Dan Lain-lain?

We have heard how we are potraited as a “multi-ethnic country” that live peacefully but then within the country we are addressed by where we pray. In my view religion is something very personal thats exactly why we respect religion so much, when you offend a religion, you are offending a person.

Using religion to gain political mileage is cheap in my view. Yes, we need to educate the masses about how we are all Malaysians and we are all equals.

Politickler wants to know what you think!

There is a poll setup on the sidebar for everyone to tell us how you would like to be called…

Please….enlighten us all :)
